London pride - Saxifraga umbrosa x spathularis = S. x urbium
Grows to 30 cm in height, forming wide mats of rosettes of spoon-shaped, long-stalked leaves with scalloped margins. Small, pink-flushed white flowers are borne in lax panicles.
Usually found as an escape from cultivation and often close to habitation. It often manages to establish for a time in the wild.
Flowering from early summer.
An evergreen perennial.
A widespread escape from cultivation in Britain.
Occasionally recorded as an escape from cultivation in Leicestershire and Rutland.
