Thibaut Courtois is excited to be representing Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League final, after losing to Los Blancos when he was the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper for the 2014 final.

That was the Belgian goalkeeper's only other appearance in the biggest match in club football, but he is pleased that this time he is playing for the club that has won the European Cup 13 times.

'I'll be on the right side of history' Courtois confident in Real

"I obviously didn't win it in 2014, but I could win tomorrow," Courtois said when asked for his memories of the game in Lisbon.

"But, I think everybody, no matter how many Champions League titles they've won, is thinking about winning the final for Real Madrid.

"Liverpool also know what it's like to play a final against Real Madrid, as they did so in 2018.

"You know that when Real Madrid play finals they win them. This time I'm on the right side of history."
