Very decorative, almost circular to cordate, wrinkled, 20-35 cm in diameter, dense packed like roof tiles; shoot late in May, fresh green, later pale green; splendid autumn colours, from dark to light initially blood-red, gradually brilliant red, then bright orange

Sun to shady; tolerates heat, needs warmth, moderately frost hardy; likes high humidity; needs wind protection
