🫒I had the privilege of growing up in the rural villages hopping from one fruit tree to another in the wild, sampling the best nutrient-dense natural "salads" with the birds🐦 🐦⬛🦜 ....afterwards dive into the river for a free-styled swim 🏊♂️ 💧💦..... (nostalgic!!) Sadly, human activities (#deforestation) coupled with a changing climate is a threat to majority of high value native plants... (sob sob sob.... 😥) 🍓Here is one of my childhood favourite package from the Dovyalis macrocalyx species, #festuskiplagat 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/dxhffPrr 💚
How lucky were you 💓 they look like tomatoes, cherries and rose hips all in one!!!!
Even with all the sourness it had, we munched joyfully. I tried looking for it last December, I only found one tree.unfortunately the rivers are drying up, no more swimming.
I didn't know you could eat Dovyalis macrocalyx fruit! Thanks for sharing.
I loved these growing up 😍
Cheroro not left behind too
We used to see in childhood, very rarely now
Beautiful, genuine
Look gorgeous.

9moBrings back loads of memories. I used to do the same. Ate all kinds of berries in the bush, still strong and alive. I sell the Kei Apple trees here as fencing, due to their vicious thorns they grow. But the fruit is very healthy and sweet
