URTICA URENS BOTANICAL NAME: Urtica urens Linn. FAMILY: Urticaceae COMMON NAMES: English—Dwarf nettle, small nettle. DISTRIBUTION: Europe, especially U.K., Germany and Australia. PART USED: Whole plant. HOMOEOPATHY USES BURNS: One of the best remedies for burns of the first degree, used locally and given internally. BREAST MILK-: A remedy for increasing breast milk. Diminished secretion of milk after child birth. Also suppress milk in women who are weaning. KIDNEY STONES: Gravel in bladder and kidney. Haemorrhage from the bladder GOUT AND RHEUMATISM: Gout and rheumatism associated with urticaria like eruptions. For both acute and chronic gout. Deltoid rheumatism, especially right side. Continuous pain in deltoid, worse rotating arm inwards, could not put on the coat. URTICARIA: Urticaria after taking shell fish. Raised, red blotches with severe itching. PRURITUS VULVAE: Pruritus in women with severe stinging, itching and oedema. POTENCY: Mother tincture and lower potencies.
