ZE:A Is On A 5+ Year Hiatus—Where Are The Members Now?

A lot of them have been busy.

Star Empire Entertainment‘s nine-member boy group ZE:A debuted in 2010 with the song “Mazeltov”. While their last full group release was the 2015 full-length album Continue, they remained active until 2017. Six years since the start of ZE:A’s hiatus, here’s what each member is up to now in 2023.

ZE:A

1. Kim Tae Heon

The rapper had many ups and downs since the group’s hiatus, recently speaking about his financial struggles. Two years ago, Kim Tae Heon worked at a construction site to make money but couldn’t pay his bills. Now, he works at a Coupang distribution center and wins competitions as a beginner boxer.

2. Lee Hoo

Leader Lee Hoo (formerly Junyoung) returned from his mandatory military service in 2022. Two months later, Gangnam Police charged him with drunk driving for a second time—following his charge in 2018. Since then, the DJ has remained out of the public eye and hasn’t posted on social media.

3. Kevin Kim

After spending ten years in Korea as part of his idol career, Korean Australian rapper Kevin Kim returned to Australia. He occasionally MCs events, hosts radio shows, and shares cooking videos on his YouTube channel.

6. Im Si Wan

Becoming one of the successful idol-turned-actors, Im Si Wan has starred in many well-known K-Dramas like Hell Is Other People, Run On, and Summer Strike. He’s even slated to appear in Squid Game: Season 2. Im Si Wan hasn’t forgotten where he started, reminding everyone he still has idol dance moves during fan meetings with Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung and special appearances with choreographer Choi Hyo Jin.

7. Jeong Hee Cheol

While other members have remained in the spotlight, rapper Jeong Hee Cheol has been living a quiet life since the group’s hiatus. He posts about two photos a year, sharing moments of his pets and occasional meetings with other ZE:A members.

8. Kim Dong Jun

Kim Dong Jun is another idol-turned-actor who’s starred in About Time and More Than Friends. He recently completed his mandatory military service back in January and is preparing to appear in the upcoming series Goryeo-Khitan War.

9. Park Hyung Sik

Park Hyung Sik is one of the most well-known members of the group, appearing in popular K-Dramas The Heirs, Strong Girl Bong Soon, and Soundtrack #1. In 2023, the idol-turned-actor starred in Our Blooming Youth and is promoting Doctor Slump with his co-star Park Shin Hye.

Despite ZE:A being on hiatus for so long, that didn’t stop the members from remaining close friends. They still meet up, comment on each other’s Instagram posts, and mention each other on variety shows. Even so, a comeback may take a while based on how busy they’ve been individually.
