Slender orange-stamened grass on the drawdown zone at Bosley Reservoir. Struck me as more delicate and less distinctly kneed than the orange form of Alopecurus geniculatus. Referering to Sell & Murrell after returning home I find that short or absent awns are the feature used to identify this species, and the photographs don't show any prominent awns; however I've never particularly noticed the awns of other Alopecurus species, pratensis, geniculatus and myosuroides all being fairly easily recognisable.
