Woody evergreen shrub 1-2m in height in boulder beds near streams, common on the banks of the Little Caledon River in Golden Gate and its tributaries, mostly Golden Gate and Qwa-Qwa region, sometimes below cliffs on the edge of ravine forests. Small needle-like leaflets, singular or in groups of 3-4. Small inconspicuous flowers in axils of leaves, greenish or creamy (unisexual) during summer months. Stringy brown bark.
