FUNCTIONS

DESCRIPTION: Perennial herb. Subteranean stem thick and fleshy, with globular enlargements, blacksh-brown. Stems; frequently clustered, erect or slightly inclined, noded, purple in lower sections. Leaves; alternate, deltoid-ovate, apexes acute, bases sagittate, margins intact or slightly undulate, petioles slender, stipules sheath-like, clasping stems, Flowers; in the fall, terminal and axillary white flowers appear to form panicle inflorescences. Achene 3 angled, blackish-brown.
