Terrestrial, with ovoid tubers; Stem erect, leafy; Leaves 2-several, prostate to suberect, lanceolate to circular; Inflorescence terminal, densely many-flowered, bracts leafy often reflexed; Flowers non-resupinate, white, yellow, pink, purple or red; 2-spurred, short to elongate; Lip hooded, uppermost in flower; Sepals and petals subsimilar, small, ligulate to obovate; Column within hood, stalked; Pollinia 2, sectile.
