Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a scrambling herb with stout spreading roots and rhizomes. Old stems are square in cross-section.
Leaves are ovate to rhombic shaped, often 2 per node, unequal in size and sparsely hairy.
Flowers are white or creamy and bell-shaped with triangular lobes. Spring to Autumn.
Fruit is broadly-rounded conical berry which is white to pale yellow and translucent.
To remove this plant you need to carefully dig out all rhizomes.
It is often found in moist areas.
