FLORA OF ICELAND elements: Dactylorhza viride, Frog Orchid, Barnarót

Dactylorhiza viride; aka as Coeloglossum viride The frog orchid is a common orchid on Iceland. It favours well developed natural heathers and scrubs. One rarely finds it in lowland grasslands/meadows/pastures and in the highland deserts.
It is a member of the Orchid family (Orchidaceae). The Icelandic name of this species is Barnarót.
