Dandelions (Taraxacum sp)
A cluster of flowers on a dandelion plant. The name dandelion is from the French 'dent de lion', meaning 'lion's tooth'. The French for dandelion is 'pissenlit dent-de-lion', the first part of which means 'wet the bed', a reference to the plant's efficacy as a diuretic. Expert botanists distinguish umpteen species of dandelion, but the fine distinctions are out of my league.
