Dicliptera sericea is an evergreen, herbaceous perennial plant or small shrub with erect, arching stems that carry green/grey, oval foliage that is quite velvety in texture. It will be greener if grown in more shade but it will flower better in more sun.
On erect stalks are produced two-lipped orange-red flowers that are tubular shaped are display in upright clusters. They bloom from summer to early autumn.
This is a very tough and drought hardy plant requiring little to no attention.
