Hibiscus mutabilis is a rounded, bushy, almost deciduous shrub or small tree.
The large, dark green leaves are palmately lobed and the pretty, showy flowers emerge white and age to pink then red.
It flowers profusely, and makes for a good background shrub or feature being less grandiose that the popular Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, but extremely pretty all the same.
A hardy plant that can tolerate mild frosts.
