Ehrharta longifloraCommon name: Annual Veldt Grass

Meaning of name: Ehrharta honours Friedrich Ehrharta (1742 – 1795), a Swiss botanist. Longiflora is from the Latin longus, meaning long, and floris, meaning flower.

Distribution: Occurs from Shark Bay to Eucla.

Remarks: A tufted annual to 60 centimetres tall. The greenish-purple flowers are produced from July to November. Native to South Africa.
