1. Branchlet with young leafy shoots, male (a - f) and female (g - m) catkins with stipulate stem (n). - 2. Branchlet with leafy shoots; one with yet green, immature conelets (a, b) the other with developed male catkins (m) and vegetative buds (k) and one with an old (empty) conelet (z). - 3. Ripe winged nutlets. - 4. Seedling with cotyledons and first ordinary leaves. - 5. Winter-branchlet with empty strobiles (a - d), dormant male catkins (e - g) and vegetative buds (k). 6.
