Didymochlaena truncatula fern houseplant
  • Didymochlaena truncatula (Sw.) J.Sm. This beautiful species is widely spread throughout the tropics. The leaves are lacy in appearance, not unlike a ‘Maidenhair’ fern, but much more robust. Emergent foliage is bright pink to copper color, turning deep green with maturity.

     

    Etymology of Didymochlaena: Gk. didymos = twin; khlainos = cloak; referring to two sori which share an indusium.
