Asplenium dimorphum x difforme ‘Parvati’ aka 'Austral Gem' is a beautiful hybrid created by Chris Goudey of Austral Ferns in Victoria, Australia. It has very characteristic, thick, dark green fronds, which are very tough and glossy, giving the plant an extremely robust character. This fern is very resistant to droughts, dry air conditions and temperature fluctuations.
The genus name Asplenium comes form Latin asplēnum, form Greek asplēnon spleenwort, form a- not + splēn spleen (form its reputed medicinal properties).
