Grow your own tasty blood oranges with this Citrus Tarocco tree. The red, nearly seedless flesh is very juicy and fragrant, with a perfect balance of sweet and bitter. The tree has few thorns and stays small, with fragrant blooms in the spring. The smooth, orange-yellow skin is thin to medium in thickness, with a red blush over more than half the surface. The blossoms of the Citrus Tarocco tree emit a wonderful sweet fragrance. The creamy white flowers appear abundantly in spring, and the tree produces fruit every year. Moreover, the Citrus Tarocco is hardy to -7°C, so when it gets cold it is recommended to put the Tarocco inside. This way, the tree can be enjoyed every year!
Care
Citrus Tarocco prefers a sunny position in the garden. It does best as a tub plant. Choose a large flower pot with holes in the bottom. Give the Citrus Tarocco tree plenty of water immediately after planting. Pruning the tree is not really necessary, although long branches or crossing twigs can be pruned back in February. Water regularly in summer, rainwater is preferred. Be sure to keep the soil moist, but do not drown the root ball of the tree.
