Foliage
Leaves are variable in shape, adult leaves are polar-like, they have a long slender petiole and are darker green on the upper surface. Occasionally leaves may have three distinct sharp lobes, especially on juvenile foliage.

Ornamental Fruit
Seeds are produced in a woody boat shaped follicles up to 7 cm long. Fruit open s alond one side which revels seeds encased in hairy fibres, which can be irritating to some people. Pods tend to persist on the tree for an extended period.

Trees are upright, dense in habit with a rounded crown. Some trees can show signs of being semi-deciduous in early summer

Flowers
Small bell-shaped flowers are greenish-white in colour with cream to purplish-brown throats inside. Separate male and female flowers. Flowers produced September to December.
