NOLANA PARADOXA SEEDS

Nolana paradoxa

Fantastic uniform selection of this Chilean native. Bright blue flowers with white throats on sprawling prostrate stems. Perfect for xeriscaping. Inconspicuous fleshy foliage can tolerate a great deal of abuse. Will cascade nicely over the sides of walls and containers.

This species is really lovely alongside its cousin, Petunia integrifolia. Both will ultimately snake their way through other garden occupants, keeping soils shaded and cool. They're also fairly impervious to pests and drought once established. Bright flowers dress up an otherwise dull understory between rows and along pathways.

Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last spring frost: press seeds into the surface of moist soil and just barely dust with fine vermiculite; mist generously with warm water; cover with plastic to maintain moisture and temperature. Kept warm, around 80°F, in bright light, seeds will germinate in a week or two. Uncover promptly. Prick out seedlings to grow on in individual containers or cells when they have true leaves. Transplant outdoors into well-drained soil in full sun after the last frost.

Packet contains at least 50 seeds.
