Devil's-bit Scabious Plants (Succisa pratensis) A tall native perennial common throughout Britain in marshes, meadows, roadsides and damp woods. Mauve to purple wild flower heads on slender stems from June to October attract bees and butterflies. This is the food caterpillars of the Marsh Fritillary. (70 - 75cm)
Germination Instructions
Sow direct in autumn where they are to flower the following year. Sow into prepared soil 6mm deep 30cm apart. Can also be sown in a cold frame in spring and moved outside when danger of frost has passed.
