    Introduced over 350 years ago, this is an easily grown, cottage garden favourite. It is a bushy plant with deeply cut leaves and bears lovely large, fluffy, sweet-scented flowers. Wonderful for the border and brilliant for cutting.

    Germination Instructions

    Best sown outdoors where they are to flower. Sow 5mm deep into prepared soil which has been watered. Germination takes 14-28 days. Thin seedlings to 25cm when large enough to handle. Can be sown indoors, sow 5mm deep into seed compost, water well. Ideal temp. 10-15°C. Transplant seedlings once large enough to handle with 25cm spacing. Grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frosts has passed.

     Deadhead regularly to extend the flowering period.
