Adenia spinosa

Vining caudiciform with a fantastic globose green caudex to 60cms diameter. Cut back vines when dormant in winter. Water when in active growth. Indoors only in NZ.

New summer growths reach upwards for something to climb on.
Unused tendrils drop their end to become spines
Female flowers. Also spines.
Yellow fruits, not as round as glauca fruits.
Fat.
Tendrils before drying back to spines.
Surface of caudex.
Dehydrated one. Needs water!!
5 weeks later, rehydrated!
