Campanula persicifolia 'La Belle' (30)ct FlatCommon Name: Peach-leaved Bellflower, willow bell.
Zones 3 to 7 (8).
Full Sun to Part Shade.
Plants reach 24 inches tall and 12 to 18 inches wide;
Rosette-forming, upright, glabrous herbaceous perennial.
Growth rate: Moderate, semi-evergreen spreads both by self-seeding and offsets.
Tall, upright stems bear loose racemes of small, double, deep blue flowers with a silver gloss. Starts blooming in early summer and continues thru late summer if deadheaded. A strongly upright habit; clumps increase in size by producing shoots which arise from the base of the plant. Forms rosettes of dark green, narrowly lance-shaped, evergreen basal leaves. One of the easiest and most rewarding perennials to grow.
This group of Campanula is easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil; but grows best in fertile soil with a neutral to alkaline pH. Keep the soil moist but make sure it is well-drained. Members of this group will grow in either full sun or partial shade, though some shade is recommended in areas with very hot summers, as it is generally intolerant of the extreme heat. The delicate flower colors are best preserved with some shade.
Cut plants back hard, to basal rosettes, after flowering to keep them more compact and help prevent self-seeding. This action may also result in a second flush of blooms. Propagate by seed, division, or cuttings.
