Francis (Frank) R. Madia III, age 63 of Paradise Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21st, 2023. He leaves a legacy of deep love for family and friends and a flair for spreading laughter and kindness. His loss is a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Frank was born on October 5th, 1960, in Geneva, New York, to his beloved parents, Francis R. Jr. and Phyllis Madia. Frank graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California and went on to attend St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.

A fine glass of sauvignon blanc, a Sinatra tune, enjoying his home and the Arizona desert, Frank lived a life of small and large pleasures. Relishing work, chatting with clients and untangling thorny problems were his driving mission at Equitable Home Mortgage. He found vitality and meaning through service to colleagues, clients, friends and family. Frank was uniquely talented and authentically generous.

Frank’s most meaningful thoughts and cares were for his wife and children. Work colleagues and clients unexpectedly and often found their calls on hold while Frank prioritized family. This small act exemplified his heartfelt purpose. He leaves behind his wife, Dafna, with whom he shared 40 cherished and loving years. Together they have two children, Maxwell (Marella Alioto) and Madeline (Connor Smith). His family’s adoration, respect and pride spring from small, daily acts of kindness (morning coffee delivery, daily calls and surprise drop-ins) and Frank’s profound, unwavering support, loyalty and love.

Frank is also survived by his brother, Richard “Soapy” (Michele) Madia of New York, his sisters Marylou McDonald of California, and Chris (Frank) Dinan of New York, mother-in-law, Barbara Isaac of Arizona, brother in law Noah (Mary) Isaac of Arizona and sisters in law Devra (James) Laner of California, Trisha Madia of New York along with many adoring nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Francis R. Madia Jr. and Phyllis “Lupie” (Gringeri) Madia, two brothers Bernard and Edward Madia, father-in-law Theodore Isaac and his cherished pets Toni and Izzy.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Friday November 3rd, 2023, at 10:30 am at Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 East Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale Arizona 85253-4124. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frank’s memory to Hospice of the Valley, Arizona and the Arizona Animal Welfare League.
