Product Description

100 heavily rooted plants. Pachysandra terminalis, commonly referred to as Japanese Spurge, is a beautiful evergreen groundcover that thrives in partly shaded or full shaded areas. Pachysandra spreads rapidly by underground stems to form a dense carpet of rich, dark green foliage. Common Name: Japanese Spurge Hardiness Zone: 5 to 9 Height: 6 to 12 inches Spread: 1 to 1.5 feet Bloom Time: April Bloom Color: White Sun: Part shade to full shade Maintenance: Low Flowers: Small, white flowers 1-2” long Leaves: Evergreen Uses: Groundcover, erosion control, border plant. For most groundcovers, we recommend you plant 6” to 9” spacing. This will allow the plants to grow together quickly, reducing the need for hand weeding. To determine how many plants you will need, using 6” spacing, multiply the number of square footage that you need to plant by 4.0. If you would like your plants to be spaced 9” apart, multiply the number of square footage by 1.8. Example: If you have a 100 square foot area to plant and you would like your plants to be planted 6” apart, you will need to calculate 100 x 4.0 = 400. 400 is the approximate number of plants needed.

Came in a tight bundle that was in pretty good shape. The paper towel was barley damp by the time I got them but the core was good. Maybe an extra paper towel would help but I didn't see a problem.I didn't experience any that were really damaged. A couple plants had some brown root tips (minor) but that was observed while planting. I had them in a dish tub with a wet towel over them. Next time I will add more water. Really wet makes it easier to separate. They've only been here for 4 hours so I can't really say much. But they are planted and they all looked good!

I was impressed with how quickly the order was shipped. They all (1,100) arrived in very good condition with the wrapped roots still moist. They were relatively easy to plant although quite time consuming, mainly because of the quantity; it took me a week solo. The first two days after a group was planted they were drooping even though I'd watered them well. I chalked it up to transplant shock since they perked right up by the third day. Each section did this. Planted them 6" apart thereabouts and both the supply of plants and my back and knees ran out before covering the planned space. However, I definitely plan to order some more in the Spring but not all at once. Good product.

I have only had these planted about 2 weeks but we have had a hard freeze and cool weather since they were planted. The plants show no sign of stress. They were relatively easy to divide and I used a plant auger on a battery drill and they were a breeze to plant. They appear to be hardy little plants and so far I am well pleased.

The plants were well packed for shipment and arrived in excellent condition. After planting them, we found we were 20 plants short in one of the bundles. We were disappointed in the shipper's error, but loved the plants we did receive. Would probably do business with this company again.

The 100 pachysandra bare root shoots arrived packed into a ball about the size of a softball. About 10% had little or no root. I planted them in a 6" x 6" grid in less than 1 hour. I've been watering them heavily every other day. Surprisingly, none of the 100 have died, even those with no roots. They look healthy and I am gradually increasing the watering interval, now at every 3 days.

I would recommend buying from this seller! The plants arrived quickly, safely and beautiful. They were packed well with a moist paper towel and the roots are crazy good on these guys. They took really quickly to my yard. I waited a couple days before planting them. 2 days after they arrived I planted some, a few days later I planted a few more. I still have a ton left to plant but I have them all sitting in a tray with some soil and water them daily. Hardy plants! Thank you,
