Re: Aloe littoralis
This is an attractive tree aloe native to several south African countries (including South Africa)... solitary with a single, unbranched stem up to about 10 feet tall (the stem part). Leaves are triangular, upright and bluish-green with some spots in mature plants, but a lot of spots in juvenile plants. Unlike most tree aloes, this one often flowers nicely even before forming any sort of stem. Leaves are relatively stiff, but slightly bendable, glaucous with sharp yellow teeth, tipped in dark red-brown. Flowers are can be multiple inflorescences at a time, often many branched, but very upright and racemes narrowly conical with pink to reddish pink flowers in winter. Easy plant to grow and cold tolerant down to about 25F.
