Cornflower is a honey plant. It comes from the Caucasus, has stiff, thick, erect stems, 80-100 cm high. Decorative, sword-shaped leaves. Golden-yellow baskets, up to 5 - 6 cm in diameter, are surrounded by shiny brown sockets - they look very elegant. They unfold in July-August and resemble golden sceptres.
It tolerates droughts well, so it can be successfully planted in full sun. It will grow almost everywhere, it is not a picky plant. The soil should be well-drained, moderately moist. This cornflower is sometimes planted in flowerbeds in larger gardens, sometimes also individually. Decorative all season long. Inflorescences are suitable for cutting.
