1 Hook worm Phylum Nematoda- Roundworms Whip worm
These are ascaris worms that live in the intestine of man. Note how the worms are pointed on both ends. The male on the far left has a hook on its tail end. Hook worm Whip worm

2 Roundworms are different from Flatworms because they have cylindrical bodies. Your book explains them as tiny cooked strains of spaghetti that are pointed at each end. Unlike cnidarians or flatworms, roundworms have a digestive system that is like a tube open at both ends. Food enters the mouth at one end and wastes exit the through an opening called the anus at the far end of the tube. Many roundworms are carnivores or herbivores but others are parasites. Most are not parasitic but instead are free-living; found in soil where they are important decomposers.

4 This a Guinea worm, a round worm that start as tiny shrimp-like animals in infected tropical water. Once someone drinks the water the worms grow inside. The females work their way out of your skin by making holes in order to lay eggs. Above picture shows the “match” technique…… turn slow or the worm will break!!

5 This round worm is called a Loa lao worm
This round worm is called a Loa lao worm. If bitten by an infected Mangrove fly in the tropics, the parasitic worm can then be transferred to the human. It lives and feeds under the skin and every so often may wiggle across the hosts eyeball!!
