Distribution: N and W Madagascar

Habitat: Sandy forests, coastal dunes; 100-2950ft (30-900m)

Life form: Terrestrial

Foliage characteristics: Leaves are mottled in white, green, and purple.

Bloom characteristics: Erect inflorescence has several green flowers with a white throat and red lines. Flowers are 2.5" (6.4 cm) across.

Bloom Time (northern hemisphere): June; November

Description: This medium sized Madagascan orchid grows on sand dunes in the wild. It is known for its dappled, shining leaves.
