Iochroma coccinea

Tender evergreen shrub with attractive medium green foliage can grow 4-8’ in frost free locations. For most of us it is a superb seasonal container specimen that drips with oodles of 4” long GLOWING red orange tubular flowers in fat clusters from late spring to first freeze. Blooms on new growth so prune away! Full sun on coast and in northern areas, part shade elsewhere. Easily overwinters in our cold greenhouse to keep it from freezing.
