Western ragweed.

Common on roadsides and coastal mesas. Seen blooming Aug-Sept.

Male and female flowers separate but on the same plant.


Here you can see the two flower types, one is hooded, pointing downwards, on the flowerspike, the other, less common, branching off from the side down below.
