Capitula in rather lax terminal compound cymes; stalks of individual capitula slender, ascending-pubescent with silky hairs; involucre hemispherical or turbinate-hemispherical, 2 mm in diameter at flowering time, to 3 mm in fruit; phyllaries 2-4-seriate, oblong or ovate, 1.5-2 mm long, dark at the centre in upper part, otherwise pallid, ciliate, obtuse to acute, glandular and sometimes pubescent.
