Rothmannia globosa (Cape Gardenia)

Rothmannia globosa (Candlewood, Cape Gardenia, Wild Gardenia) is a small but highly decorative South African tree of the family Rubiaceae. It occurs in evergreen forest and along forest margins in the Eastern Cape and north to Limpopo Province and Eswatini. The highly perfumed flowers are produced in profusion from October to November. Grows to 7m tall in the wild, but in cultivation the height is usually between 2-3m tall.
