Iris foetidissima (stinking iris) are a hardy British native plant that produces striking orange-scarlet berries in autumn.  They are a very wildlife friendly plant.

We have these in the allotment and they were in the plot when we took it over.

We dug a large clump out from the raspberry beds and moved them to beside the newt pond.  We’ve also moved a clump to the back patch, planted in the wilder bits under the large cherry tree.
