These lovely plants have been grown from cuttings taken from plants established locally on our property so grown to our local conditions & not kept in a shadehouse. They happily grow in full sun.
All below information has been provided from google. Although often called a Giant Salvia, they are of entirely different plant families – Lamiaceae ( Sage), Acanthaceae (Brillantaisia).
Growing Conditions : Outdoors it grows in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade; we find it is quite drought tolerant. Native and European Bees and other pollinator insects really do enjoy the lovely purple and white flowers.
