Vaccinium erythrinum

Edible ornamental formal looking plant with boxwood-like foliage and form. Nice dwarf hedge with inflated red flowers that look like fairy lanterns. Very attractive evergreen boxwood alternative with charming red flowers followed by black berries in Fall. Sun-part shade. Needs organically rich well draining soil. Evergreen. There seems to be some internet confusion about the hardiness of V. Erythrinium. It is perfectly hardy in the Pacific NW. Zone 6-9
