Description

Drosera Binata, “Red”, forked leaf sundew. $17 for one potted mature size plant. Plants currently starting to grow one or more new leaves. $12 for one potted sm/md 2 to 3 inch tall, seed grown plant. *Please note plants are just starting to regrow from winters rest, or are seed grown. Pictures are a representation of what plants look like. -Smallest of the forked leaf varieties. Usually with two to four fork tips per leaf. -Plants native to Australia and Tasmania. -Turns completely red-maroon color when grown in full sun or intense light. Six plus hours of dire sunlight for best color. -Grows to about 6-7 inches tall and wide. -Excellent bug catcher -One of the few Binata varieties that the flowers self pollinate and produce a lot of Seeds. -Plants are produced from seed or root cuttings. -This variety goes dormant in late fall and winter when grown outdoors. Care Recommendations Light -Best grown outdoors in full to part part sun. -Indoors on a very sunny windowsill with at least 4 or more hours of direct sunlight during the spring and summer. -Or under full spectrum grow lights for 10 to 16 hours. Water *Always recommended to water with rain, distilled, or reverse. Soft water with 50ppm or less is OK to use. -Keep soil wet at all times. -Easiest to just sit pot in a dish or tray with water about 2 inches high, or water daily. Temperatures/Dormancy -These plants will die down to soil level going dormant in late fall and winter when temperatures get too cold. Will start growing again in the spring. -Will provide more growing tips and recommendations.
