Description

Squarrose clover (annual) – for fodder – is grown alone, it can also be sown in mixtures with legumes and bells (oats or others), when the green mass is cut before flowering. Green fertilizers will also be used as long as the plants have not reached mass flowering.

Use: annuals, suitable for green fodder rather than hay. This clover is more common in Lithuania as an intermediate plant, sown for green manure. Accumulates atmospheric nitrogen.

Cultivation features: it grows well in both heavier and lighter, sandy soils, but it is not suitable for growing in wet ones at all. Tolerates neutral pH, it is not recommended to grow in alkaline soils.
