Golden currant's yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers fill the air with a clove-like fragrance in spring.  The edible berries are black when ripe but can be picked green and used similarly as you would gooseberry. Plants produced from cuttings are going to be clones and unable to produce fruit. Ours are grown from seed, so as long as two plants are nearby, cross pollination should occur and berries will develop on both plants.
