Stately, summer blooming biennial with giant soft grey leaves that grow close to the ground. Flower spikes are very tall, to 6 feet or more, with many small yellow flowers mid-summer. In medieval Europe the flowering stems were dipped in tallow and burned as torches.
Grow in full sun with little water - it will grow in almost any soil.
