Scirpus atrovirnes. Green Bulrush is found in swamps, marshes, wet meadows, bogs and lakeshores. This sedge attracts many species of waterfowl, aquatic mammals and birds. Green Bulrush grows in wet to mesic soils and prefers full sun. It’s a great buffer for the edges of waterlines that grows between 36-48″ when mature.

This may result in plant leaves with minor feeding damage and/or the occasional monarch caterpillar found still chomping on your milkweed.
