Biography
Rodrigo Ochagavía has extensive experience in corporate finance, including banking and finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and energy.
He has represented a broad range of clients, including lenders, borrowers, purchasers, sellers, governments, investors, financial advisers, issuers, credit enhancers and underwriters. In the energy sector he has represented generators, transmission and distribution companies.
He is a professor of business law at the Law School of the Pontificia Catholic University of Chile and of mergers and acquisitions in the master’s in business law at University of los Andes.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
He joined Claro & Cia in 1997 and became partner in 2001. He was previously with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, 1996–1997 and Carey & Cia in Chile, 1990–1995.
