Bupleurum fruticosum
Shrubby Hare's Ear
NEW Fully frost hardy in all Australian zones this Southern European plant extends umbels of small creamy yellow flowers at the branch tips. A much commented upon plant in our Mediterranean garden where it has made about 120cm x 100cm in just a few years. With its sea-green foliage and greenish yellow umbels from midsummer until May it has made a big impact. This plant commonly called shrubby hare's ear could be used as a substitute for an olive tree where space is limited. Also excellent plant in exposed coastal gardens where it is sometimes clipped to a hedge in Europe.
