Perennial, tufted. Stolons present. Culms 2040 cm tall. Lateral branches
sparsely branched. Leaf-sheath auricles present. Ligule an eciliate membrane,
0.81.5 mm long. Leaf-blades flat, 315 cm long, 24.5 mm wide.

Inflorescence
Inflorescence compound, a panicle. Panicle open, ovate to globose, 825
cm long, 0.250.35 cm wide. Primary panicle branches spreading, simple,
515 cm long, bearing 13 fertile spikelets on each lower branch.
Panicle branches stiff.
Spikelets
Spikelets solitary. Fertile spikelets 2-flowered, comprising 1 fertile floret,
lower floret sterile, upper fertile, without rhachilla extension, lanceolate,
dorsally compressed, 4.56.1 mm long, falling entire.
Glumes
Glumes dissimilar, thinner than fertile lemma. Lower glume lanceolate, 4.86.1
mm long, 110% length of upper glume, 100% of length of spikelet, 7-nerved.
Lower glume apex acute. Upper glume lanceolate, 4.55.7 mm long, membranous,
7-nerved. Upper glume lateral nerves ribbed. Upper glume surface pubescent,
hairy between nerves. Upper glume apex acute or acuminate.
Florets

upper glume, lanceolate, 4.25.5 mm long, 900% of length of spikelet,
membranous, 7-nerved, ribbed, pubescent, hairy between nerves, acute or acuminate.
