Differs from other Justicia species in having small leaves, herbaceous nature, white bracts and growing mostly during pre monsoon period.

Procumbent herbs with woody rootstock; branches slender, several from the base, subterete, glabrous. Leaves opposite, 7.5 x 3 cm, narrowly elliptic-oblong, obtuse, base attenuate, glabrous; lateral nerves 4 or 5 pairs; petiole to 1 cm long. Spikes terminal, to 7 cm long; bract and bracteoles narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 8 x 2 mm, glabrescent. Calyx lobes lanceolate, pubescent, 3 mm long, Corolla 1 cm long, pubescent, greenish yellow with dark brown streaks; upper lip broadly ovate, 2-fid at apex; lower lip 3-lobed, lobes obtuse, middle lobe twice as broad as the lateral lobes. Filaments pubescent at base. Capsule 1.2 cm long, pubescent, oblong-clavate; seeds 4, 3 mm across, densely tubercled.

Morphology
Herbs, procumbent; root-stock woody. Leaves 1.0-3.5 x 0.6-0.9 cm, elliptic-oblong or obovate-oblong, apex obtuse, base tapering. Flowers in continuous, somewhat lax, 2.5-12.5cm long spikes. Capsules c 1.2 x 0.5 cm, oblong-clavate, shortly pointed, pubescent. Seeds 4, c 0.3 cm across, densely clothed with acute tubercles.
