For market bouquets, you just can’t go wrong with bupleurum.  It makes an excellent foliage filler that takes up lots of space.  Bupleurum has a unique leaf structure as the leaves wrap or surround its stems.  Makes an excellent dried flower.

HARVEST:  Harvest when 50 TO 75% of the flowers are open.  If you are not using it for foliage, we have found it is better to wait until the stems are mature and cut the flowers off the tops for less wilt.  Floral preservative is a must to reduce wilt.  Bupleurum is not a good choice for floral work that is out of water.
