Description

Cyperus esculentus originated in Africa and other parts of the world. For the aquatics listed in the pollen diagram (2), the Cyperaceae family includes foods such as the tubers of chufa or yellow nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus) and the roots of the Caribbean spike-rush (Eleocharis caribaea).
